2013 was a year of many scandals and suffice it to say that the gossip mill is probably overstuffed, given the number of controversies that kept popping up every minute. Here are nine of the most shocking headlines that we read in 2013:

1.Jiah Khan’s Suicide
The suicide of the Ghajini actress was shocking, to say the least, but the suicide notes that followed in quick succession lent an even greater air of mystery to the proceedings.

2. AbRam’s Sex Determination Allegations
The birth of SRK’s third child through surrogacy was a happy occasion, that quickly turned ugly when the happy father had to fend off allegations that he had indulged in a sex-determination test prior to the birth.

3. Katrina - Ranbir’s Spanish Romp
Just when the are-they aren’t-they questions began to drive us crazy, Ranbir & Katrina obliged us by getting photographed on a beach in Ibiza.

4. Shilpa & Raj Kundra’s IPL Controversy
The world was stunned when the IPL team owned by two bigwigs of glam world and captained by one of cricket’s most respectable names turned out to be a breeding ground for spot-fixing.

5.  Hrithik - Suzanne’s Divorce
While we all knew that Suzanne was none too happy with Hrithik’s linkup rumours with Barbara Mori back in 2010 on the sets of Kites, the news of their separation two weeks back knocked us for a six.

6. Shah Rukh- Priyanka’s Alleged Affair
While she spent 2013 making waves abroad, Priyanka also had to spend the latter half of the year fending off the homewrecker allegations that her closeness to the King Khan fuelled.

7. Sanjay Dutt’s Arrest
Munnabhai impending trip to America got cut nastily short when the court ignored all pleas and stuck to its decision to send Sanjay Dutt on a five- year trip to Yerwada jail, from where he is currently out on parole.

8. Sunny - KRK’s Twitter War     
KRK stirred a hornet’s nest when he attributed a rape comment to the adult film star on Twitter but the war of words hastily got cut short when she threatened to drag the case to the cyber police.

9. Poonam’s Leaked Clip
Poonam Pandey, being Poonam Pandey, got embroiled in controversy when an MMS clip (accidentally?) got leaked and ensured that the requisite amount of newsprint was dedicated to her.
