Submit URLs With Fetch as Googlebot

Though Google has gotten good at tracking down new web pages, it still offers multiple ways for site owners to inform it of URLs they want the search engine to crawl and index. Recently, Google added one more: Fetch as Googlebot.

If you’re familiar with many of Google’s features, you know that Fetch as Googlebot has been around for nearly two years. Webmasters can use it through Google Webmaster Tools. Tell Fetch as Googlebot to crawl a specific URL on a site you’ve verified, and you’ll see your page the way Google would see it. This is great for figuring out and debugging website issues that don’t show up if you’re simply looking at the site through a web browser.
Now, though, Fetch as Googlebot lets you take things one step further. If it successfully fetches your URL, you can request that Google index it by clicking a “Submit to index” link. You won’t want to do this with every page on your website, as there are important limits and points to consider, but it’s great to have this additional option.
One important point to keep in mind is that you can only submit 50 pages a week in this fashion. You can submit all pages linked from the URL you’re submitting you’re submitting as well, but you can only do that 10 times in a month. Additionally, Google notes that submissions of images or video are more appropriately made by using Sitemaps rather than Fetch as Googlebot.
You should also keep in mind that submitting a URL in this way does not mean that Google will definitely put the page in its index. In its blog post on the topic, Google states “that we don’t guarantee that every URL submitted in this way will be indexed; we’ll still use our regular processes – the same ones we use on URLs discovered in any other way – to evaluate whether a URL belongs in our index.”
On the other hand, using Fetch as Googlebot does speed up the process of crawling your URLs. Google will do that within a day of your submission. It’s worth remembering that not everything Google crawls goes into its index. And not every URL that Google learns about gets crawled right away, in any case. As Vanessa Fox explained on Search Engine Land, it arranges the list of URLs it discovers in priority order before crawling them. Google uses a number of factors to determine the priority of a web page, including the page’s overall value, PageRank, frequency of change and how important Google thinks the page is (this is why news home pages tend to get crawled and indexed very quickly).
If you want to take advantage of this new way to submit URLs from your website to Google for crawling and possible inclusion in its index, it’s best to use it for new areas and categories on your site. If you’re making a major update, Fetch at Googlebot will also serve your need to get Google’s attention quickly. This will help you to speed up URL removal or cache updates as well.
You can also use Fetch as Googlebot, to a limited degree, as part of a campaign to promote your website and raise awareness of your business. Google notes that “You can also submit URLs that are already indexed in order to refresh them, say if you’ve updated some key content for the event you’re hosting this weekend and want to make sure we see it in time.” You can use this to make visitors happy, or avoid having them get angry.
For example, I’ve attended a number of weekend-long events that involved a great deal of planning, along with an associated website (or at least a section of a website). These events often included several tracks of programming, but with so much going on involving many people (often volunteers), the actual schedule didn’t gel until a week or less before the event. Using Fetch as Googlebot once the schedule has been turned into HTML pages and/or PDF documents to make Google aware of the pages can help…especially if you have a few last-minute attractive additions, like someone with a large fan following.
How you choose to use Fetch as Googlebot is up to you; for most purposes, you should probably continue to use Sitemaps. But Fetch as Googlebot sounds like just the thing to use if and when you’re getting ready to expand or extensively revise your website, and you want Google to know about the process as quickly as possible. Good luck!

Build Backlinks – 12 Easy Ways

We’re not talking here about links you put on your own website, although those “internal links” are indeed important and often underutilized. Let’s focus on how to build backlinks other people use to point attention toward your website via blogs, articles, social media sites, and so on. For example, “Here is my review of the best restaurant in New York (link pointing to your business).” And while tweets, likes, and +1’s are now becoming important ranking factors alongside links, having websites link back to you is very much still a basic requirement for getting search engine fueled website traffic.

There are an infinite number of places you could conceivably build backlinks for your website, and the vastness of the task can be paralyzing. But you have to start Google optimization some where. You shouldn’t wait passively for people to finally decide to link to you. So over the last few weeks my agency has dug up this list of easy-to-build backlinks you can get for any website. These will help get the popularity ball rolling, and even if your site has been around a while, you should go back and make sure you have these link sources covered.

14 Easy Places to Build Backlinks

Why haven’t you heard of these link sources before? You have. But you’ve probably been told they are a waste of time by your Web developer, who claims these big, popular sites aren’t useful for Google optimization.
The reason is that most powerhouse social media sites like Facebook and YouTube put a small piece of code called ‘the no follow’ tag into most areas of their site. As the name implies, the ‘no follow’ tells search engines: if someone tries to build backlinks to their site from here, don’t follow it. Instead, ignore it.
This was and is done to prevent spammers. If you didn’t have the ‘no-follow’ tag, spammers would create thousands of Facebook profiles, LinkedIn profiles, and YouTube accounts just to link those sites back to their website. The ‘no-follow’ breaks the connection you are trying to make between one website and the next, defeating the purpose of a link from the perspective of Google optimization (people can of course still click the link and visit your site directly).
But it’ s a fallacy that all social media sites have no-follows. In fact, many sites provide juicy link opportunities. You just need to find them. And we did.
These are all real links, and are entirely legitimate and approved for optimization by Google.
Google Profiles
We recommend creating profiles for key employees and founders. Be sure to add custom links with anchor text (“anchor text” is the actual words that comprise the link. You want these to be search terms for which you want to be found, not your name or company name. This anchor text helps Google determine what other sites think your site is about) . Your profile link on Google Profiles will be devoid of a no – follow and you can add much additional information along with the link including videos and photos. These profiles are especially important now that Google Plus has launched.
Google Places
Create a local business listing for all of your offices. Use target keywords in the profile and description fields. This is a great source that is devoid of no – follows and has high visibility in the search results. A Powerful, easy, and effective place to build backlinks.
LinkedIn.com
Build a company profile, as well as individual profiles for key employees and founders. Select “Other” when setting your first web site link to create custom anchor text. Also take advantage of the two additional links available, but no custom anchor text is allowed.
Digg
Digg is great for traffic generation, and while not the powerhouse it once was, is still a large community. Plus, you can submit articles you want to promote, and links to those articles are followed by search engines.
Foursquare
Even if you’re not a check-in maniac, you should set up Foursquare profiles, as the link you associate with your account is followed.
Reddit
An article submission site in the Digg vein. Very active with highly engaged users. The links you submit will be devoid of the no – follow attribute .
Squidoo
Create as many Squidoo “lenses” as you like, about any topic. A lens typically consists of a blog post-esque article, with links to other recommended sources.
Stumbleupon
An article discovery site that’s exceedingly busy and popular. Drives significant eyeballs all around the Web. Submitted links are followed.
Yelp
Even if you don’t know a burger from a baba ganoush, create a profile on Yelp. The link in your profile is followed. Links in comments, however, are no-follow.
listings.local.yahoo.com
This local business portal allows you to create a profile for your business and is devoid of the no – follow attribute. Use target keywords in the profile and description fields, and anchor text if possible.
YouTube
Create a custom YouTube channel for your company . While comments and any links you include in your description will have the rel=”nofollow” attribute, YouTube gives you a link in your profile that is devoid of no – follow.
Ezine Articles
Article submission is becoming a bit dated in terms of Google optimization and building backlinks. Large content repositories like this and Hubpages (below) may have been devalued somewhat in Google’s most recent “Panda” overhaul of its algorithm. But you can use this site to recycle blog posts that you have published elsewhere, and pick up an additional link.
Hubpages
Write articles on topics of your choosing, with custom links and anchor text . Significant link potential here. Devalued a bit in Google’s new Panda update.
Dotpoch
Also in the Digg and Reddit category. You get a link in your profile , and you can submit news stories and articles. All article links are followed.

When You Build Backlinks Be Complete

When it comes to Google Places, Local Listings, LinkedIn and basically all your social pages and profiles, a complete profile is much more powerful than an incomplete one. It’s just more information that search engines can use to figure out what you and your website are about. So fill out all the details and include your main keywords in those profiles (for example, ‘we are a landscape company from Dallas specializing in large commercial and educational institution projects’).
All of this takes a bit of time and grunt work, but if you do it Google will have a richer collection of sites pointing back to yours in a consistent, powerful way.
Got a juicy link opportunity we missed? Put it in the comments.
In the meantime, check out Jay’s comprehensive look at the rise of social SEO and Google Plus.

21 ideas to make money online

A cash cow for the enterprising, the Internet is littered with opportunities to make a fast buck. While it rarely qualifies as a solitary source of income, the Net can easily help you supplement it. However, the amount you earn depends on the time and effort invested. Go through these 20 options and find out which ones work for you.

Blogging
If you're a passionate closet writer who wants to be published but can't find a way to do so, make each keystroke your way to wealth by penning your own blog. Starting a blog doesn't require extensive technical skills but it's important that you have expertise in the field you are writing on. This will attract visitors to your site. Building a large following will enable you to earn profit by luring advertisers, writing paid reviews or getting commissions for promoting other people's products.

Paid Writing

If maintaining a blog is difficult for you but you still want to indulge your passion for writing, you can jot down articles for other blogs or sites such as Weblogs, Helium or PayPerPost. Writing an e-book can also be a good option. E-books are investment free, with no cost for printing and shipping. If you have a strong command over languages, you can become a copy editor, where Webmasters will pay you to read articles and correct grammatical errors, sentence fragments, etc.

e-tuitions/Webinars
The demand for tutors is high and growing. So, if you like helping others learn, e-teaching could be the earning ticket for you. All you need to become an online tutor is expertise in your subject and a few spare hours per week. TutorVista, e-tutor, SmartThinking and Tutor.com are some of the sites you can enroll with. If you gain a good reputation as a coach, you could even conduct Webinars-lectures or seminars transmitted over the Net. College and university students are willing to pay to gain entry to a well-respected Webinar.

Affilliate/Reseller

For those who have the knack of selling, one of the best ways to make money online is to become an affiliate/reseller. An affiliate is a person who gets a commission for selling every product that he promotes, whether on his Website or through any other avenue such as eBay. You don't have to own the product. You only need to sign up for an affiliate program with a company and start selling its products under your referral link. Firms such as Commission Junction or Click Bank have a large pool of products.

Buying/Selling domains
Buying and selling domain names is another way to make money from home and requires very little investment or time. You can buy domains at their registration prices or even cheaper and trade them at a profit. However, always research on sites such as sedo.co.uk, afternic.com, ebay.com or other domain auction sites to get an estimate of the hottest selling names. The best way to find good ones is to use terminated domain lists, which contain several expired names that are back in the pool.

Freelancing for Professionals

Freelancing is a great option for professionals who are experts in their respective trades and know how to ensure customer satisfaction. Various freelancing and project-oriented sites allow companies that need help to describe their projects. Freelancers and small businesses offer bids, ideas or proposals, from which the buyers can choose what they find most suitable. Websites such as Elance cover everything from programming and writing to data entry and design, while RentACoder focuses on software programming.

Advertising

You can sell space on your Website or blog for advertisements and you earn when these ads are clicked by visitors to your site. The sorting and placing of ads is free. The profitability of pay-per-click advertising depends on the traffic level of the Website and, most importantly, on the clickthrough rate and cost per click. Google AdSense is the most popular option, while others are BidVertiser, Text Link Ads and Blogads. Direct banner and RSS feed are some other forms of online advertising.

GPT Programme

GPT or Get-paid-to sites are becoming increasingly popular among teens. You get paid for signing up for free Websites, newsletters, playing games and filling out online surveys. These are suitable for people who don't have a skill set but want to earn extra money. Taking online surveys is simple- register with a few legitimate, paid survey sites and answer questions. The topics range from shopping to politics. This might not help you make a living, but you can earn good pocket money. Contests2win is one of the trusted GPT Websites.

Online Marketing

Once a Website is created and optimised for search engine (SEO), the SEM or Search Engine Marketing begins. A treasure trove lies hidden here. An SEO/SEM expert, who is responsible for marketing a Website, can promote it in various ways. These include article marketing, writing press releases, forum posting, blog posting, submitting your site to directories and search engines, social bookmarking, etc. Most companies don't do this in-house and pay you to conduct the SEM for them.

Making themes

As more and more people seek an online presence, the demand for Website templates and WordPress (Blog) themes will keep increasing. If you are good at Web designing and coding, you can earn a lot from designing Web themes. In this segment, there are mainstream Websites, such as TemplateMonster and ThemeForest, which act as a marketplace where you can sell your themes. Templates are sold and priced depending on the rights and features that are bundled with them.

Selling photos
If you enjoy photography and are good with a camera, you could be sitting on a huge reserve of revenue. There are people who will be interested in your collection of images. Nowadays, it's easy to take your photos to the public, providing a convenient way to build a secondary income stream. Many stock photo agencies, such as Fotolia, Dreamstime and Shutterstock, offer incentives for people to earn from their photos.

Support & service
Providing coding or fixing other Webmasters' issues is another great way to earn extra bucks. There are simple jobs ranging from adding a script to setting up sites, but knowledge of Web coding is essential. One can offer support for Web CMS (content management systems) like Drupal or Joomla. After you are comfortable with your own installation, you can help other people to set these up and configure them.

Stock/forex trading
Joining the stock/forex market may seem a bit risky. However, you can start small and continue researching till you gain experience in this area. Once you do, it will be easy to earn from exchanging foreign currencies and/or stocks. Their rates fluctuate depending on supply and demand, and economic and political influences in the world. The aim of any trader is to spot which currency/stock is likely to rise or fall in value against another. The more time you put in, the more you will earn.

Selling your own brand
If you have a flair for designing cool images, don't bother about creating your own inventory. As long as your design can be printed on a product, you can pocket some money. You can upload designs on various Websites such as CafePress, and if somebody orders these designs, the company will print them and distribute the products. It could be designs for T-shirts, hats, bags, books, posters, calendars, greeting cards, etc. You will receive a commission for each sale. Other such sites include Lulu and Zazzle.

Virtual Assistant

Small businesses always need help in running their processes, but may not be willing to hire a full-time employee. As a virtual assistant, you are expected to perform practically any administrative task that a traditional secretary or assistant would, such as make travel reservations, handle expense reimbursements or pay bills. You can do it from the comfort of your home, interacting with clients either online or by phone. Your expertise will decide how much moolah you rake in.

Inbound call centre
Many companies, who are facing space constraints, especially those in metro cities, prefer to hire workers outside their offices or outsource certain processes. You can set up an inbound call centre at home to handle such jobs. Research different companies that are outsourcing their work as they may have opportunities for inbound call centre agents. You can work for more than one company. This can be either a part-time or fulltime engagement, depending on your need.

You Tube
If there's a dramatic performer hidden inside you who craves applause and adulation, upload yourself on YouTube. You can be a filmmaker, musician or comedian who wants a wider audience. Your earnings will come from ads displayed on your video page. This process is similar to the pay-per-click advertising program common to other Websites and blogs. Sites such as Flixya and Mediaflix can be helpful in this regard.

Researching for others
Don't be morose if you can't write, design or code. Lack of talent cannot stop you from making money online. If you're willing to work hard for a few hours a week, you can take up simple research jobs for other people who don't have the time to do it themselves. You could search for opportunities in organisations that provide funding for research and offer to assist them through online investigation.

Building Applications
With smartphones gaining popularity, the demand for their applications, or apps as they are popularly known, has also shot up. There are over 3 million apps for the iPhone and over a million apps in Google's Android market. Most of these are selling like hot cakes. Developing and selling your own smartphone app is becoming a lucrative way to make money on the Internet. Apps cost virtually nothing to develop and entail no storage or shipping costs. So they enjoy the best profit margins.

Transcription
Medical transcription involves making written copies of oral material dictated by doctors or other medical experts. These may include history and physical reports, clinical notes, consultation notes, reports, letters, psychiatric evaluation and so on. The dictated material needs to be transcribed swiftly and accurately, which is the most challenging aspect of the job. To become a medical transcriptionist, you need to have a good knowledge of medical terminology and a high typing speed along with accuracy.

Why Build an Affiliate Site with WordPress

If you are considering starting an affiliate website with WordPress, you surely must have heard lots about the blogging platform. There is a misconception in the webmaster industry and it is that WordPress is only used for blogs and no other purpose. If you have seen some customized WordPress websites, you would surely know that this isn’t true at all.

WordPress is obviously the most common content management solution for bloggers, but it certainly does not stop you from using towards other great sites. Affiliate sites are a great income generator and with the ability to post tons of unique content, your sites will greatly benefit from the search rankings.
In affiliate marketing, tons of marketers have begun using WordPress especially due to the fact that it is so easy to install and get running.
If you have access to an automated script installer, you can easily install WordPress in less than a minute. This not only saves you time, but it also removes room for any mistakes you may make with the installation.
With such an easy installation process, anyone without the technical knowledge behind building sites could get it running. Apart from the official installation and customization of the site, there are numerous benefits for affiliate marketers.
For an affiliate website, what is one goal you have? It is surely to get the most number of targeted visitors. You will not benefit from a wide range of users who are not interested in the product you are selling.
If your website is about weight loss, you will not gain anything by attracting users who are looking to purchase baby cribs.
In essence, the ability to get targeted users is the main goal of any affiliate marketer. Due to its search engine friendly features, WordPress seems to get better rankings on search engines as opposed to regular static sites. This makes it another great reason to get in on the WordPress community.
Unique content is king in the online industry.
After the recent farmer update from Google, many of the low quality sites were dropped in the search index. In order to have a great search ranking, you need to make sure that all your content is unique and relevant to your site. WordPress allows you to add posts with descriptions, tags and categories.
In the end, you will have links to your tags, categories and posts, giving you much more than a regular static site. Now, the main part of your website is the sale of these affiliate products.
With WordPress plugins, it has become increasingly easy to add and delete affiliate products. You need to be able to blend in the products into your site without letting people know you are just out to sell.
As subtle as it may be, it will surely attract users who are looking for that product. You can add these products within your posts, links, headers and widgets.
With a wide array of options, you would be missing out on a lot as an affiliate marketer if you don’t use WordPress.

How to Earn Money in Hyderabad from Online Jobs

I lived in Hyderabad for 10 years. I did my college their and after that I started working for an IT company. As you know Hyderabad has some of the big software companies like Microsoft, Infosys, and TCS etc. I worked as a software developer for 5 years for a company called Honeywell. They even sent me abroad in USA for a year, I didn’t like it there so I returned back. There was too much pressure from the clients, you got to meet the deadline, living alone, and I couldn’t take it.
I had no interest for a 9 to 5 job. I started looking out for other jobs that are easy to work and you could earn a good income. Then one day, I stumbled upon a website which was promising to give me an online job. Although, such websites are fake and you could not take them seriously.

For a year, I wasted a lot of money researching about online jobs. After spending a couple of years I found out there are few genuine online jobs from which you could make a lot of money.
From my experience, I have concluded most of the website promising online jobs are fake, however that doesn’t mean there aren’t any online jobs altogether.
Hence I have jot down a list of few genuine online jobs that could pay you if you live in Hyderabad or anywhere else in the country.
Although all online jobs requires skill, if you cannot read or write English or don’t have knowledge of computer, Internet then online jobs are not for you.
First three jobs are for high skilled professionals and next three are for less skilled people.

Fiverr

First one is Fiverr, you all know about this site. If you don’t then Fiverr is a site where you could offer a service of any kind for just $5.
Therefore, if you have a talent then you could sell it for just $5. For example, you have a great talent in designing something like logo, drawing cartoons or desktop publications then you could sell your talent for $5.
Suppose for designing one logo, or couple of logos or more you could charge $5 from your clients. Similarly, if you get more orders then you could create hundreds and thousands of logos or cartoons and sell them daily.
You could easily make enough that is more than your day job. If you like then you could work on part time basis also.
You could have talent from any department like graphics design, video animation, advertising, music, health, cooking etc. You could go to the website and choose a service that you would like to offer and make money. That’s it. This is one of the best online jobs that you could get sitting in Hyderabad.

Google
